Joseph Lee Parker, 37, of Old Town, Florida, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple federal child exploitation charges, including four counts of attempted enticement of a minor, three counts of attempted production of child pornography, and three counts of attempted receipt of child pornography. The charges, announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, stem from alleged activities spanning nearly a decade.
Parker appeared for his arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Midori A. Lowry in Gainesville, Florida. A jury trial is scheduled for July 22, 2026, at 8:30 am, to be presided over by Chief District Court Judge Allen C. Winsor in Gainesville.
If convicted, Parker faces severe penalties. Each attempted enticement count carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years and up to life imprisonment. Attempted production of child pornography counts each carry a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years, while attempted receipt counts carry a mandatory minimum of 5 years and up to 20 years in prison.
The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the sheriff's offices of Columbia, Dixie, and Gilchrist Counties. Assistant United States Attorney Eric W. Welch is prosecuting the case, which is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation.
