1 News is reporting that severe weather alerts are in place for much of New Zealand. It said heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for the Bay of Plenty and the top of the South Island. Severe thunderstorms are expected for the upper North Island and Taranaki. In other news, Woolworths' loyalty program has apologized after an email claiming members had a $15 voucher to spend was mistakenly sent to around 500,000 customers. The message was intended for a small number of new members who had recently earned their first reward but — due to human error — it was sent much more widely. Also, Sean "Diddy" Combs was denied bail after a jury convicted Combs of federal prostitution-related offenses but acquitted him of sex trafficking and racketeering charges. A US judge declined to grant bail to Sean "Diddy" Combs, preventing the hip-hop mogul from being freed ahead of sentencing in his sex crimes case.
