Solar activity has been at very low levels for the past 24 hours, with four numbered sunspot regions currently on the disk, according to the joint USAF/NOAA Solar Geophysical Activity Report and Forecast issued at 2200Z on 03 Oct 2026.

Solar activity is expected to remain very low, with a chance for C-class flares on days one, two and three (04 Oct, 05 Oct, 06 Oct). Event probabilities for 04 Oct-06 Oct put Class M flares at 05/05/05, Class X at 01/01/01 and proton events at 01/01/01, with PCAF green.

The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels over the past 24 hours. Solar wind speed peaked at 310 km/s at 03/0648Z, total IMF reached 9 nT at 03/0805Z, and the maximum southward component of Bz reached -7 nT at 03/0709Z. Electrons greater than 2 MeV at geosynchronous orbit peaked at 810 pfu.

The geomagnetic field is expected to be at unsettled to minor storm levels on day one (04 Oct) and quiet to active levels on days two and three (05 Oct, 06 Oct). Predicted Afr/Ap values are 014/020, 011/015 and 008/012.

The Penticton 10.7 cm flux was observed at 093 on 03 Oct, with predictions of 095/095/095 for 04 Oct-06 Oct against a 90-day mean of 115.
