Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, alongside Lt. Governor Jim Tressel and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik, announced the approval of eight significant economic development projects today. These initiatives are projected to create 1,618 new jobs and retain 1,835 existing positions across the state, bringing more than $1.8 billion in investments and $133.1 million in new annual payroll.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed these proposals, which include a major investment from OPmobility Exterior USA, LLC. The company plans to establish its first Ohio facility in Rossford, Wood County, creating 541 full-time positions with $40 million in new annual payroll by December 31, 2030. This facility will produce plastic automotive exterior parts for major OEMs. Governor Mike DeWine said, “We welcome OPmobility’s first investment in Ohio, which will boost the state’s strong automotive sector and expand its U.S. footprint with more than 500 new jobs.”

Hikma Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. is set to expand its operations in Bedford, Cuyahoga County, and Columbus, Franklin County, adding a total of 350 jobs and $28.5 million in new annual payroll. These expansions will increase domestic manufacturing capacity for generic prescription medications and grow contract manufacturing capabilities. Governor DeWine commented, “Hikma’s expanded facilities in central and northeast Ohio will strengthen its ability to ensure patients have reliable access to the medicines they need.”

Further job creation includes 200 positions from Aerovironment, Inc. in Beavercreek and Xenia, Greene County, focusing on advanced manufacturing for defense applications. AAA Club Alliance Inc. will create 250 jobs in Cincinnati and Worthington through office renovations. Weidmann Electrical Technology Inc. will add 105 jobs in Middletown and Urbana for advanced insulation technologies. Cologix, Inc. and Cologix US, Inc. will establish two new data centers in Orange Township and Johnstown, creating 90 jobs. Finally, Killer Brownie LTD. will relocate and expand in Springboro, Montgomery County, adding 82 positions.

These projects underscore Ohio's appeal for diverse industries, from automotive and pharmaceuticals to defense and data centers, signaling continued economic growth and job opportunities across various regions.
