Firefighter/Paramedic John D. Morgan, 53, of the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District in Roscoe, Illinois, died on duty May 31, 2026, becoming the 29th firefighter fatality reported this year.
Morgan, a career firefighter with 25 years of service, was found unresponsive at the station after failing to report for a grass fire call. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The cause of death for Firefighter/Paramedic Morgan has not yet been determined.
