Ohio Governor Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency for Mahoning County today following severe weather that caused significant damage in the area on Sunday. Governor DeWine toured the affected communities in Boardman with the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to assess the storm's impact.
The emergency declaration aims to expedite state assistance for cleanup efforts. "By declaring a state of emergency, we're able to expedite state assistance in communities that need help with cleanup," said Governor DeWine. "We want to do everything we can to help those impacted by this storm recover and move forward."
This directive mandates all relevant State of Ohio departments and agencies to deploy their services, equipment, supplies, and personnel as needed to aid in the recovery and cleanup operations across Mahoning County.
