Zachary Guthrie, 32, of Rochester, NY, was sentenced to 72 months in prison and 10 years of supervised release for possessing child pornography involving a prepubescent minor, U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced.
U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa imposed the sentence following Guthrie's conviction. The New York State Police (NYSP) executed a search warrant at Guthrie’s residence in October 2024.
This action came after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) provided CyberTips, indicating Guthrie had uploaded child pornography to Instagram and Discord. Investigators seized his cell phone during the search.
A forensic review of the device uncovered more than 200 videos and over 320 images of child pornography. Some content depicted the sexual exploitation of children and violence against them.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Katelyn M. Hartford prosecuted the case. The investigation was a collaborative effort by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New York State Police, and NCMEC.
