Governor Jim Pillen has announced that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has approved a postponement of tax filings and payments for individuals and businesses in parts of Nebraska. This relief is specifically for those impacted by wildfires and storms that began on March 12, 2026.
The tax relief applies to five separate state disaster declarations. Affected individuals and businesses now have until February 1, 2027, to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during the period following the disasters.
