Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has announced a comprehensive list of 53 appointments and reappointments to 18 different state boards and commissions, affecting various sectors across Arkansas. These appointments include individuals filling vacant positions, replacing outgoing members, and continuing their service through reappointments.
Among the numerous changes, the Governor’s Advisory Commission on National Service and Volunteerism saw the largest number of appointments with fifteen individuals named, including three reappointments and one position filled from a previous vacancy. Other significant appointments were made to the Arkansas Catfish Promotion Board, which received five reappointments, and the Arkansas Fire and Police Pension Review Board, also with five appointments, including three new members and one filling a vacant spot.
Additional appointments were made to critical bodies such as the Arkansas 911 Board, Arkansas Child Abuse, Rape, Domestic Violence Commission, Arkansas Economic Development Council, and the Arkansas Public Defender Commission. The Residential Contractors Committee and the Arkansas State Board of Sanitarians each received four appointments, addressing various needs within their respective fields. These appointments ensure continued leadership and oversight for essential state functions.
