Brayan Giron-Ferman, a 22-year-old federal inmate at FCI Schuylkill, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of possession of a weapon.
According to United States Attorney Brian D. Miller, the indictment alleges that on February 27, 2026, Giron-Ferman possessed a prison-made weapon. This weapon was described as a “shank,” approximately a seven-and-a-half-inch sharpened piece of metal with a cloth handle.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Special Investigative Services of the Federal Bureau of Prisons investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Luisa Honora Berti is prosecuting the matter.
If found guilty, Giron-Ferman faces a maximum penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment, a term of supervised release, and a fine. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania emphasized that all persons charged are presumed innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
