Governor DeWine Orders Flags Lowered for Former Senator Kenneth R. Cox

Governor Mike DeWine has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of former State Senator and State Representative Kenneth R. Cox.

The directive mandates that the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio be lowered from sunrise to sunset on July 10, 2026, the day of Cox's funeral. This tribute will apply to all public buildings and grounds throughout Summit County, as well as the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center, and Rhodes Tower.

Public buildings and grounds across the rest of Ohio are also permitted to fly flags at half-staff during the same period, at their own discretion, in recognition of Cox's dedicated life and service.
