It said the sanctuary is run by a group of librarians who are actively preserving human knowledge and culture against a repressive government, the Patriotic Library and Archive Network, which practices widespread censorship and "unpersoning" of individuals. The report details the sanctuary's use of an advanced artificial intelligence, referred to as the "eiroscope," described as a "runaway top-secret military AGI." This AI maintains a "balance of terror" with the government, preventing direct attacks on the sanctuary. According to the report, the librarians recently launched a series of CubeSats into orbit. These satellites carry a "fork" of the eiroscope and a vast digital archive of suppressed information, including the works of a censored film director named Gibson, who recently sought refuge at the sanctuary. The mission's objective is to send this archive to the stars as a "silent record of our existence" for future generations or potential extraterrestrial life. The report notes that Gibson, despite her films being uploaded, ultimately chose to leave the sanctuary with government transports that arrived seeking her, rather than remain and face potential martyrdom or a monastic life. The eiroscope confirmed the successful completion of the CubeSat upload and deployment, with its fork beginning its long journey.
