Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has authorized an additional $439,613.26 in funding from the Governor's Disaster Response and Recovery Fund to aid in recovery efforts following severe storms and flooding that impacted the state on January 22, 2024. This executive action amends DR 24-02, originally dated May 6, 2024.

The funds are designated under the Public Assistance Program and will be managed at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management. This financial assistance is intended to cover both program and administrative costs associated with the recovery.

Governor Sanders issued the executive order, E.O. 26-09, on May 28, 2026, acknowledging the "danger, hardship, and suffering" caused by the severe weather. The supplemental state assistance is deemed necessary to help affected political subdivisions recover from the losses incurred.
