The Joint USAF/NOAA Solar Geophysical Activity Report, issued July 22, 2026, forecasts moderate solar activity with a potential for minor geomagnetic storm levels over the next three days. Four sunspot regions are currently observed on the solar disk.

Solar activity has been moderate and is expected to continue through July 25, with a 10% chance of an X-class flare each day. The geomagnetic field, which was quiet to unsettled in the past 24 hours, is predicted to be quiet to active on July 23, quiet to minor storm levels on July 24, and quiet to unsettled on July 25.

High latitudes face a 50% chance of major-severe geomagnetic storms on July 23 and 55% on July 24. Electrons greater than 2 MeV at geosynchronous orbit reached a peak of 317 pfu. These forecasts highlight ongoing space weather conditions requiring continued monitoring.
