SKS Copack of Cerritos, California, has initiated a recall of various specialty beverages due to potential contamination with Salmonella. This organism poses a serious health risk, capable of causing severe and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in vulnerable populations such as young children, the frail or elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

Healthy persons infected with Salmonella commonly experience symptoms including fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare instances, the infection can spread to the bloodstream, leading to more severe conditions like arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.

The recalled products were distributed across 25 states, including California, Utah, Idaho, New York, and New Jersey. Distribution channels included cafes, restaurants, and direct delivery services. Consumers can identify affected beverages by checking the lot codes stamped on the back of the product packaging.
