DC Government to Host LGBTQIA+ Flag Raising, Celebrating 20 Years of Mayor's Office

The District of Columbia Government, led by Mayor Bowser and the DC Council, will host its annual LGBTQIA+ Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The event, held on the steps of the John A. Wilson Building, will also commemorate 20 years of the Mayor's Office of LGBTQ Affairs.

This ceremony symbolizes visibility, resilience, and progress, reaffirming the District’s ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion for its LGBTQIA+ residents. Community leaders, Legacy Award honorees, former Directors, and Advisory Committee members are expected to attend, joining residents in a shared celebration of pride and unity.
