The U.S. Census Bureau has outlined its upcoming data releases and provided an update on the ongoing 2026 Census Test, with census takers now visiting non-responsive households in select areas. These efforts are part of the Bureau's mission to provide timely and comprehensive data on the nation's people and economy.

As of June 1, census takers and U.S. Postal Service workers began in-person visits to households in Huntsville, Alabama, and Spartanburg, South Carolina, that had not yet responded to the 2026 Census Test. Residents in specific parts of these metropolitan areas were initially invited to respond online starting May 1. This test is crucial for refining future census operations.

Looking ahead, the Census Bureau will release the Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS) on June 4. This survey provides experimental data on business conditions, offering continuous and timely insights into the U.S. economy. BTOS data, representative of all non-farm employer businesses, will be available biweekly, broken down by sector, state, employment size, and the 25 most populous metropolitan statistical areas.

Additionally, the Bureau recently released 2024 Educational Enrollment Data on May 26, detailing educational characteristics of individuals aged 3 and older. A feature commemorating the Americans With Disabilities Act anniversary, signed July 26, 1990, was also released on May 19, providing statistical information on people with disabilities. Upcoming economic indicators include April 2026 Construction Spending on June 1 and the full report on Manufacturers’ Shipments, Inventories and Orders for April 2026 on June 3.
