Breaking Defense is reporting that defense industry executives are optimistic about future Pentagon spending, despite uncertainty surrounding the fiscal year 2027 budget. RTX CEO Chris Calio stated during a July earnings call that he observes bipartisan support in Congress for increased munitions. Separately, Breaking Defense said the Senate's proposed stopgap funding bill rejects special requests for a "Trump battleship" and additional munitions. If approved by both the Senate and House, this continuing resolution would extend federal funding until Dec. 11.
