The National Fire Academy (NFA) announced immediate vacancies in numerous resident classes scheduled from July through September 2026, offering professional development opportunities for fire and emergency services personnel. These courses cover a range of critical topics, including hazardous materials response, incident management, and fire protection systems.
Among the available courses are "Chemical Hazard Analysis for Risk-Based Response" (July 6-17), "Commercial Fire Sprinkler System Plans Review" (July 6-10, Sept. 14-18), and "Type 3 Incident Management Team/Organization" (July 6-10, Sept. 14-18). Other offerings include "Advanced Life Support Response to Hazardous Materials Incidents" (July 20-31) and "Command and Control of Fire Department Operations at Natural and Man-Made Disasters" (July 20-31, Aug. 17-28).
All training takes place at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Prospective students must apply using the electronic application form on the NETC Online Admissions website and secure electronic approval from their sponsoring organization. Applicants will receive written notification from the Admissions office regarding their participation. The NFA Online system is currently unavailable, which may affect some services, and updates will be provided upon its restoration.
