The U.S. Census Bureau has announced a series of upcoming data releases and initiatives, providing critical insights into the nation's demographics, economy, and trade. These include detailed population estimates, economic indicators, and a new tool for international trade data.
Among the key releases are the Vintage 2025 population estimates, scheduled for public release on June 25. These estimates will provide annual population figures for the nation, states, metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, and counties, broken down by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin. Additionally, population estimates for Puerto Rico and its municipios will be available by age and sex, covering the period from April 1, 2020, to July 1, 2025.
Economic data updates include the Quarterly Summary of State and Local Government Tax Revenues for the first quarter of 2026, and experimental data on Cannabis Excise Sales Tax Collections for the same period, both set for release on June 11. A new working paper comparing demographic commuting measures from the Survey of Income and Program Participation and the American Community Survey, analyzing data from 2013 to 2021, is slated for June 15.
The Census Bureau is also seeking participants for a Usability Testing study for data.census.gov to improve user interaction with the site. Furthermore, the new USA Trade Online: Reimagined tool has launched, offering an improved interface for trade data, with the legacy platform being decommissioned by June. A webinar on June 17 will explore post-pandemic employment recovery using QWI-Based Employment to Population Ratios. The Business Trends and Outlook Survey continues to release biweekly data, with new questions on artificial intelligence introduced in April.
The Census Bureau regularly publishes updates in the Federal Register, with current notices including the 2030 Census Locate Address Test for Accessory Dwelling Units, the American Community Survey, and the Commodity Flow Survey, all with open comment periods.
