Governor Jim Pillen has appointed Scott Gray, a decorated 30-year veteran and Executive Deputy Chief of the Omaha Police Department, as the new executive director of the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, commonly known as the Crime Commission.

Gray is set to assume his new leadership role with the agency on August 9. He will succeed Bryan Tuma, who announced his retirement from the Crime Commission in April. This appointment marks a significant transition for the commission, bringing Gray's extensive law enforcement experience to the state-level body.
