The Washington Post is reporting that migrant passengers are disputing key elements of the Department of Homeland Security’s account regarding the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. The incident occurred during a chaotic traffic stop in Houston this week involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The newspaper said three men, currently held in immigration detention, provided separate statements and interviews through their attorney, Hugo Balderas-Ibarra. These individuals contradicted the DHS claim that Araujo rammed federal officers with his vehicle. Balderas-Ibarra shared the written and oral accounts with The Washington Post.
