The NPR Tiny Desk Contest continues to highlight a diverse array of musical talent from across the United States, with local member stations actively showcasing regional artists and their unique entries. The contest receives submissions from all 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, demonstrating its broad national appeal.
WBUR in Boston featured local artists such as riah with her lovesong “Other Side,” Don’t Tell Iris and their folk-pop entry “Chamomile,” and bog berries with the energetic “Choose For Me.” Similarly, KPBS in San Diego recognized Hana Fleur’s “Love a Woman,” Shua’s “Burden,” and Emily Afton’s “Cactus” among its top local submissions. STLPR in St. Louis highlighted Contest regulars Boxcar with “SuperMegaCrush” and Eldraco + Free Nation’s “Lost in the Rhythm,” alongside newcomers Les Pesky Belles with “Maybe Tomorrow” and Jay-Marie is Holy’s “When You Say.”
South Florida’s WLRN conducted interviews with several local favorites, including Venezuelan singer Fabiii, cancer researcher Katerina Lomis, The Voice season 27 winner Adam David, and Jobi, who discussed gospel influences. KERA in Dallas also sat down with Cure For Paranoia frontman Cameron McCloud, the grand prize winner, to discuss his creative process and the guidance he draws from his late mother. McCloud also spoke on “All Things Considered” about his “one verse a day” project.
The “Alt.Latino” podcast hosts Anamaria Sayre and Felix Contreras reviewed over 200 Latin entries, selecting their favorites. Felix Contreras expressed strong admiration for “Cubahia” by Ivan Llanes & Friends. Other top Latin genre entries included Sofia Gomez’s “Without Me,” Ed Harvest’s “Me Toca Despedirme de Ti,” alegrías’ “Wahoo!,” Majo Puente’s “MAKTUB,” and Thee Almighty Majestics’ “Última Noche.” The 2026 Tiny Desk Contest is presented by Capital One and supported by Rivian.
