The U.S. labor market experienced minimal shifts in June, with both total nonfarm payroll employment and the unemployment rate showing little change, according to the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Payroll employment saw a modest increase of 57,000, while the unemployment rate remained steady at 4.2 percent.
Employment continued its upward trend in sectors such as professional and business services, social assistance, and health care. Conversely, the leisure and hospitality industry recorded job losses during the same period.
