Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass today announced a successful Street Racing Taskforce operation, which resulted in over 65 arrests and hundreds of citations and vehicle impounds. The early morning action took place at the intersection of Figueroa Street and Alondra Boulevard.

Mayor Bass declared, "Let me be clear: there is zero tolerance for illegal street racing and street takeovers in Los Angeles. These are inherently dangerous and put the lives of drivers, spectators, and innocent bystanders at risk." She thanked LAPD officers for their swift action, coordinated with the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

The Mayor emphasized her commitment to public safety, stating, "We will continue to prioritize prevention, deterrence, and enforcement to protect Angelenos, businesses, and neighborhoods and ensure those involved face consequences." She added that since her first day in office, she has prioritized hiring more police officers to support such critical work.
