The Joint USAF/NOAA Solar Geophysical Activity Report, issued on May 22, 2026, details moderate solar activity over the past 24 hours, with four sunspot regions currently on the disk. Solar activity is expected to be low for the next three days, from May 23 to May 25, with a 25% chance for M-class flares each day.

Geophysical activity has remained quiet, with the geomagnetic field at quiet levels. Solar wind speed reached a peak of 433 km/s, and electrons greater than 2 MeV at geosynchronous orbit peaked at 3762 pfu.

The geomagnetic field is predicted to be quiet to unsettled on May 23, before returning to quiet levels on May 24 and 25. The Penticton 10.7 cm Flux, observed at 124, is forecast to be 125 for May 23-24 and 130 for May 25.
