Kanyhi Roberson, 32, of Charlotte, North Carolina, has been sentenced to four months in prison for introducing contraband into a federal prison.
Chief United States District Judge Matthew W. Brann issued the sentence after Roberson pleaded guilty in December 2025. The incident occurred in August 2022 at the Federal Correctional Complex – Allenwood, where Roberson was visiting an acquaintance.
During the visit, Roberson passed a food item and several napkins to the inmate. Corrections officers observed suspicious behavior, and a subsequent search revealed 75 strips of Suboxone, a Schedule III narcotic, hidden in the inmate's cheek.
The Bureau of Prisons and the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Geoffrey W. MacArthur.
