The Washington Post is reporting that South Carolina Republicans blocked an effort by Donald J Trump to gain more House seats. It said the failure to approve a new map preserved the district of Rep. James E. Clyburn. The Post noted that Clyburn is a power broker within the Democratic Party and the first Black member of Congress elected from South Carolina in nearly a century.
