The Fairfax County Police Department is inviting residents to take part in a range of community events and meetings this week, part of a year-round effort to bring residents and officers together.

From Coffee with a Cop to neighborhood meetings and outreach programs, the department said these opportunities help foster communication, strengthen partnerships and keep the community informed.

Residents seeking details about this week's events can contact their local police district station, email fcpdOutreach@fairfaxcounty.gov, or sign up on Nextdoor to see events and updates shared by the department.

The department also noted that each of its district stations publishes its own newsletter, offering updates on local issues, safety tips and community events delivered by email. Residents can subscribe under Public Safety for their preferred district station.

Other ways to stay involved include registering a camera with Connect Fairfax County, which the department said helps officers solve crimes, locate missing people and support investigations. Those interested in joining the department can visit its website to learn more about joining FCPD.

For additional updates, the department encouraged residents to read its blog and follow it on X, Facebook and Instagram at @FairfaxCountyPD.
