Arlington County will hold a free virtual information session on trees in Arlington — covering planting, protection and care — on Thursday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m.
The session, hosted by Arlington's Forestry team, will open with a presentation on how the County plants and maintains public trees and how residents can help. It will also cover challenges facing the urban forest, including invasive plants, deer, climate change and development.
The presentation will address Arlington's goals and efforts to protect and grow its tree canopy, including preserving trees during construction, as well as planting programs and resources available to residents for trees on their own property.
The conversation will then turn to questions from attendees, who can ask the Forestry team directly.
"Know a neighbor or friend who cares about trees? Forward this invitation," the County said, adding that everyone is welcome, "whether you're a longtime tree advocate or just curious about trees."
Residents can RSVP for the session online, and the County encourages those interested to learn more and sign up for updates by visiting its Urban Forestry webpage.
