Connect with NYC Parks
January 6 and 7, 2018
Bought a real Christmas tree for the holidays? Recycle your tree at MulchFest! We'll chip your tree and use the woodchips as mulch to nourish street trees and plantings in our parks. Last year we recycled more than 26,000 trees! Help us top that number.
Here's how you can participate:Bring your tree to a chipping site this weekend from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We're chipping trees on-site at more than 30 parks citywide! If you don't have a tree, you can pick up a free bag of mulch from a chipping site to spread around your street tree or your own garden. Can't make it to MulchFest? You can drop off your tree at a designated drop-off location.
Please remember to remove all lights, ornaments, and netting before bringing your tree to a MulchFest site.
Visit our MulchFest page to learn more about recycling your tree at NYC Parks this weekend!
