"Nothing, no one, is too small to matter. What you do is going to make a difference." ~ Madeleine L'Engle
Thank you for all of your support throughout the year. We appreciate it immensely. If you have already given a year-end donation, please consider this another thank you.
If you have not, we hope you will consider donating now.
This year has been a challenging year - for a lot of things, including environmental protection. From our own hostile Arizona Legislature to the U.S. Congress to the President and all of his polluter cronies, we have our work cut out for us. Still, time and time again, you have stepped up and spoken up for protection of our public lands, waters, wildlife, and more. You have been there on clean energy and addressing climate change. You have made a difference!
With your help we have been able to,
- stop legislation aimed at eliminating the Arizona State Parks Board and a bill that promoted harm of snakes and other wildlife, - prevent the rollback of federal clean air standards, - keep intact protections for public lands, including our national monuments (note the administration is still trying to chip away at protections for Bears Ears and other important public lands, so this work is not finished), plus - turn out hundreds of people for Environmental Day at the Capitol and thousands of people for climate marches throughout our state.
Despite the efforts of certain livestock interests, Senator Flake, and the majority in the Arizona Legislature, we still have Mexican gray wolves in our state -- and we will not give up until these endangered animals are fully recovered. And people across the country are now saying #NoBorderWall.
So, thank you for helping to do all that and more!
We have a lot to do in the coming year. We will again be organizing Environmental Day at the Arizona Capitol and keeping an eye on state legislators, participating in forest planning to protect Arizona's national forests and wilderness areas, and helping to protect water quality in our rivers and streams, including the Verde and San Pedro Rivers.
Thank you again for your past generosity and all of your support for our work. Please consider a year-end gift to the Grand Canyon Chapter so we can keep working for a better future. http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=280a59faadc20f0163c7dcfef07379947f4a37b53c246a7bd91b47673a42c0e0bcd3248ab677811e1c4943c8fd048102a9f019dfa418f792
