SPC 0830Z Day 3 Outlook
Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0215 AM CST Mon Nov 13 2017 Valid 151200Z - 161200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... No severe storms are expected Wednesday. ...Synopsis... The flow field aloft across the U.S. Wednesday/Day 3 will evolve toward a low-amplitude trough/ridge/trough pattern, as cyclonic flow ahead of an upper low/trough just off the Pacific Northwest Coast spreads gradually across the west, and a second trough crosses the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley area. At the surface, a cold front is forecast to advance onshore/across the northwestern part of the country ahead of the western upper trough, and a weakening front will cross the Great Lakes/Midwest in conjunction with the eastern upper system. Showers -- and perhaps a few lightning strikes -- will again occur near the Pacific Northwest coastal areas, while showers and possibly a couple of thunderstorms affect the Florida Peninsula. Showers will also accompany the cold front as it crosses the Midwest/Great Lakes vicinity, but any overnight/ongoing lightning across the Illinois/Missouri area and vicinity should gradually diminish through the morning and afternoon hours. In all areas, no severe storms are expected. ..Goss.. 11/13/2017 Read more
