An upper shortwave trough will move onshore the Pacific Northwest on Monday. As this occurs, the ridge over the Plains will flatten, giving way to mainly zonal flow across much of the country. Stronger deep layer westerlies over the Rockies will induce lee troughing and some dry downslope winds are possible over the central and southern High Plains. However, strongest surface winds will be offset from lower RH conditions.
