SPC 0700Z Day 2 Outlook
Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1231 AM CST Sun Nov 12 2017 Valid 131200Z - 141200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe storms are not expected over the U.S. Monday. ...Synopsis... As an eastern U.S. upper trough moves offshore through the afternoon and evening, weakening of the western U.S. upper low as it moves onshore will result in an overall trend toward a lower-amplitude/more zonal flow pattern Monday/Day 2. At the surface, high pressure will prevail over the eastern half of the country, while a cold front shifts across the Pacific Northwest. Showers and occasionally a lightning-producing cell or two can be expected across the northwestern states, as the weakening upper low and associated surface front cross the region. Showers may also affect eastern portions of the Carolina, and then southward across the Florida Peninsula where a thunderstorm or two may also occur. In all areas, severe weather is not expected. ..Goss.. 11/12/2017 Read more
