Dear Deanne,

A year ago, the historic Paris Climate Accord went into effect. This achievement was the result of unprecedented American leadership and international consensus to finally address the climate crisis.

Just 72 hours later, Donald Trump won the presidency, despite losing the popular vote. For many of us, a future with a climate denier in the White House was hard to stomach.

But then people like you started fighting back in numbers we haven't seen before. The Women's March, rallies to protect immigrants and refugees, the March for Science, and the People's Climate March helped lift our spirits and demonstrated our collective resistance to Trump's sinister agenda.

The Bonn climate talks begin today, bringing the world together to discuss implementation of the Paris Agreement. But the Trump Administration plans to inject its toxic fossil fuel agenda into these negotiations.1Help us deliver a million signatures to make it clear that Trump doesn't speak for the vast majority of Americans!

Add your name now! Make it clear that Trump does not speak for us at the Bonn climate talks!

When President Trump took office with a cabinet full of climate deniers and fossil fuel cronies, he immediately launched an all-out assault on the environment. His decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement will go down as a disastrous mistake.

Trump completely abandoned responsible leadership, but climate action is continuing in states and cities across the country. Since Election Day, almost 40 coal plants, or more than 21,905 megawatts of coal-fired power, have been announced for retirement. Forty-seven cities, four counties, and one state have made commitments to transition to 100% renewable energy before 2050.

Millions of people like you are also stepping up, demanding action from state and local leaders, and making personal commitments to reduce energy consumption, recycle, and be good stewards of the planet we call home. Next week, with your help, Sierra Club with join with coalition partners in Bonn to deliver more than a million signatures reaffirming our support for climate action and the Paris Agreement.

Help us reach our goal! Add your name now to show your support for the Paris Agreement and continued efforts to move America forward on climate!
