Congress is feeling the heat on the Arctic

By Newsroom America Feeds at 2 Nov 2017

Miriam, we're turning "Yes" votes into "No" votes -- but we can't stop now.

Tell Congress to reject any budge that allows drilling in the Arctic Refuge!

Dear Miriam,

If Republicans have their way, the fate of the Arctic Refuge could be determined by Thanksgiving. We have as little as three weeks to make sure that the budget doesn't allow drilling in the pristine Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Republicans are using every trick in the book to fast-track this bad budget. Rushed committee hearings. A hurried voting schedule. A PR campaign that tries to convince Americans this is a good idea while glossing over the hard truths of this budget.

Send a message to Congress telling them to stand on the right side of history and reject any budget that calls for Arctic drilling.

Since September, we have flooded Congress with thousands of phones calls and messages demanding protection for the Refuge. Activists have hand-delivered petition signatures at district offices across the country. And today, tribal leaders and conservationists are in Washington D.C., testifying in front of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

With every hearing and vote, Congress comes closer and closer to a final budget. It's up to activists like you to make voting for a budget that allows drilling in the Arctic Refuge a politically toxic move. We won't stop until they remove it from the budget once and for all.

Your messages, calls, and rallies in support of the Refuge are turning "Yes" votes into "No" votes -- and we need to keep the pressure on. Tell Congress to vote against ANY budget bill that includes Arctic Refuge drilling.

Thanks for all you do,
