SPC 0730Z Day 3 Outlook
Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1248 AM CDT Fri Oct 13 2017 Valid 151200Z - 161200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorms are not expected Sunday. ...Discussion... Strong short-wave trough will eject across the Midwest late Saturday into WI/IL by 15/12z. 500mb speed max will translate across lower MI into QC by early evening allowing a pronounced cold front to advance across the OH Valley during the afternoon. Strongest large-scale forcing for ascent should spread north of the international border but adequate buoyancy may extend ahead of the front across the OH Valley for weak convection and possibly a few thunderstorms. Farther southwest, isolated thunderstorms may also develop in the wake of this trailing boundary across portions of TX where elevated instability may prove sufficient for lightning discharge with the strongest convection. Otherwise, scattered storms will be noted across the FL Peninsula and near the immediate Gulf Coast extending west into deep south TX. ..Darrow.. 10/13/2017 Read more
