Elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions will persist across parts of the Bay Area hills and adjacent mountains as well as the Sacramento Valley this morning. RH values will remain low, in the 10-20 percent range. Another round of gusty north winds is possible tonight into Friday morning, with similar conditions expected as those forecast for this morning. Further south toward the Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles County mountains, light offshore winds are expected to develop Thursday evening and become gusty by early Friday morning. Sustained northerly wind speeds of 15-25 mph with higher gusts will be possible by the end of the forecast period. ...Portions of Northern Arizona... The region will be beneath the southern fringe of stronger deep layer southwesterly flow as the upper trough slowly tracks eastward across the Great Basin to the Rockies. As temperatures warm during the afternoon and boundary layer mixing occurs, southwest surface wind speeds will increase to around 15 mph with higher gusts. RH values also will fall into the teens and elevated fire weather conditions are expected where fuels are receptive. ..Leitman.. 10/12/2017 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov/fire for graphic product...
