URGENT: Tell Governor Scott to veto the toilet-to-tap water bill

By Newsroom America Feeds at 6 Apr 2018

URGENT: Gov. Scott has until Tuesday to decide on whether or not to veto HB 1149 – the toilet-to-tap bill that will encourage pumping treated wastewater into our aquifer. The only way to stop this bill is for him to veto it. If he doesn’t, it will become law even without his signature. *His switchboard will shut down for the weekend at 5 p.m.* this afternoon, so *PLEASE CALL NOW.* *Call Governor Rick Scott* at *(850) 488-7146 *and tell him to *VETO* the toilet-to-tap water bill*.* The toilet-to-tap-water bill (HB1149) passed by the legislature allows utilities to pump chemically-treated toilet water into drinking water sources – chemical treatments that don’t screen out pharmaceuticals and other toxins. Billions of gallons of fresh water are dumped to the oceans each year while the state fails to enact needed water conservation policies. *Call Governor Scott* at* (850) 488-7146* and tell him to *VETO* the toilet-to-tap water bill*.* Please let us know you called so we can keep a tally.
