For those of you that got a double email, I apologize. There was a weird corruption issue with the initial email I sent.
I hope this email finds you well, and I am writing to you on behalf of the Urbana-Champaign Books to Prisoners. UC Books to Prisoners (B2P) is a not-for-profit project that provides recycled books free of charge to Illinois inmates and operates lending libraries at the local jails. UC B2P is sponsoring a used book sale for ONE day only on Saturday, 03/14/2018 from 10 am-5pm. The sale will be located at the IMC in the downtown Urbana Post Office building at 202 S. Broadway. Admission is free. Children’s books are $0.25-$1.00, paperbacks $0.50 and hardbacks $2.00. For more information about Books to Prisoners, visit our website at www.Books2Prisoners.org. For questions or interview requests from news or ad outlets, Rachel Rasmussen, our Volunteer Supervisor, can be reached at: 217-898-3258 email: email@example.com
B2P continues to serve Illinois state and federal institutions by sending free books at no cost to the inmate. We've been around since 2004, we've shipped more than 130,001 books to 19,244 inmates and counting. Our bi-annual book sale allows us to continue to provide this service. This service is important because books allow inmates to learn a new trade or skill so when they return to their home community they can become productive citizens. Additionally, reading books allow inmates to occupy their time doing something productive while they're incarcerated.
I wanted to ask if you would be willing to cover this story to increase awareness to our cause and attend the book sale to allow us to continue to provide this service. I have attached a flyer for your review. Please feel free to distribute to any or all of your media affiliates.
I thank you in advance for your consideration on this matter.
