Pruitt's rollback of the EPA's clean car standards are just the latest example of choosing corporate polluters over the health of Americans.Americans want clean air and clean cars. Boot Pruitt!
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt's dirty dealings are putting us all in danger while taking money out of our pockets and putting it in the hands of his corporate buddies. Today's decision to drive America backwards on clean cars is just the most recent example of many showing how unfit he is to lead EPA.
Current clean car standards were put in place in 2012, and would save consumers $1.7 trillion dollars in fuel costs, limit carbon pollution by 6 billion tons, and reduce oil consumption by up to 4 million barrels every day. These standards are really popular -- nearly 7 in 10 American voters want the existing standards to remain protected.1
These rollbacks from Scott Pruitt mean Americans will pay more at the pump while our air gets dirtier, just so Pruitt can help the corporate lobbyists and polluters who give him favors and marching orders.2
Pruitt's decision to side with automakers and their lobbyists rather than the overwhelming majority of Americans who want clean car standards should come as no surprise, as this is an administrator who focuses solely on what's best for corporate polluters, not the public. But make no mistake, we will continue fighting back to protect these standards and the health of our communities.
Scott Pruitt is unfit to lead the EPA, and he must go. We will be loud and clear in calling for our families and our communities to be protected.
Let's stand together, and #BootPruitt!
