FEMA Awards $1.7 M to Boiling Spring Lakes for Stormwater Project in Allen Creek

ATLANTA – The City of Boiling Spring Lakes in North Carolina will receive $1,732,500 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to fund a spillway project for Allen Creek. The improvements will help protect the floodplain and surrounding properties and help mitigate erosion and flooding caused by the spillway at Sanford Dam.

The $1.7 million grant represents a federal share of the total project cost of $2,310,000. The remainder will come from non-federal sources.
