Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible on Monday from the central and eastern Gulf Coast states into the eastern Carolinas. A few lightning strikes will also be possible in California. ...DISCUSSION... West to southwest mid-level flow is forecast across much of the nation on Monday. At the surface, a cold front is forecast to stall from the central Gulf Coast into southern Georgia. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms could develop along the front Monday afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms may also occur across parts of central California as an upper-level trough moves southward along the California coast.
