Trump's newly-released proposed budget means more dirty air, water, and sickness -- and giveaways to millionaires and billionaires. But Congress controls the purse strings.
Tell Congress to protect your community from Trump’s dirty budget.
Personal messages have a bigger impact on members of Congress! Don’t forget to add a few sentences on why protecting clean air and water is important to you.
Trump's 2019 budget is out, and it's awful.
Proposed cuts could lead to hundreds of thousands of more asthma attacks, heart attacks, and premature deaths from slashing basic enforcement of environmental protections and cleanup programs, meaning dirtier air and water, all thanks to giant giveaways to corporate polluters.
Luckily, presidents don't set the final budget, Congress does. So far, your calls and emails have prevented Trump and his anti-environment radical friends from getting the cuts they wanted last year -- protecting funding for the EPA, national parks, and clean air and water. But the fight isn’t over yet.
Tell your members of Congress to protect clean air, clean water, our shared public lands, and the climate -- and don’t forget to personalize your message!
Proposed major cuts in Trump's dirty budget include:
Our air, our water, our climate, and our public lands belong to all of us. If we don't protect them, more people will get sick, more will die, and we will lose our public lands to greedy millionaires and billionaires who want to drill, frack, and mine them. This budget proposal comes at the same time as the administration’s infrastructure scam, which is aimed at gutting environmental protections and makes it easier for corporations to build pipelines on public lands. It’s clear Trump and his polluting pals are doing all they can to pad billionaires’ pockets while ignoring the health and well-being of us all.
To top it all off, while Trump’s dirty budget makes deep cuts to the EPA, Administrator Pruitt continues to waste exorbitant amounts of taxpayer money on chartered flights and first-class seats to spread his polluter agenda.1
These proposals from the Trump administration are absurd! Tell your members of Congress to protect our air, water, public lands, and climate and let them know why it's important to you.
Budget cuts like these have real impacts on real people in your communities -- and that’s why your representatives need to hear your voice.
Thanks for everything you do to protect the environment,
Associate Legislative Director
