Generally quiet fire-weather conditions are expected across the United States. No changes were made to the ongoing forecast. ..Marsh.. 05/19/2017 .PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 0132 AM CDT Fri May 19 2017/ ...Synopsis... The upper trough which covered much of the western CONUS for the past few days will become more progressive during the period, moving from the central Plains into the upper MS valley. Attendant surface low will take a similar path while an associated cold front moves into the mid/lower MS valley. High pressure will settle into the Plains in the wake of the front. Resulting relaxation of the pressure gradient and translation of the stronger flow aloft northward will result in generally weak winds across the Southwest. Weak winds and precipitation are anticipated across the Southeast.
