Taliban Leader Khal Mohammad Killed In Air Strike

(Newsroom America) -- Afghan and coalition forces have confirmed the death of Taliban leader Khal Mohammad during an airstrike in Kandahar province on Saturday. ISAF said Khal Mohammad organized the placement of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) intended for Afghan and coalition personnel operating in Kandahar province. Meanwhile an Afghan and coalition security force killed several armed insurgents during an operation to arrest a Taliban leader in Sar-e Pul province today. The security force seized multiple assault rifles, a machine gun, an extra machine gun barrel and several grenades as a result of the operation. In the South, an Afghan and coalition security force detained several suspected insurgents during an operation in search of a Taliban facilitator in Helmand province today.

The Taliban facilitator is alleged to coordinate the movement of insurgent fighters and weapons, while planning attacks across on Afghan and coalition forces. An Afghan and coalition security force killed an armed insurgent during a security operation in search of a Taliban leader in Kandahar province today. The security force also detained several other suspected insurgents and seized an assault rifle as a result of the operation.
