(Newsroom America) -- A Texas man has been arrested on terrorism charges after making threats in an Internet chat room about a school shooting.

Charges were filed against 19-year-old Patrick Joseph Hudson through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for making a terrorist threat. The charge is a third-degree felony in the state of Texas.

On October 2, the FBI received a tip from a concerned citizen that an individual in an Internet chat room was making threatening comments regarding a school shooting that was to take place somewhere around the Katy, Texas area.

The FBI said agents and officers worked expeditiously to mitigate the threat. The threat did not specify a particular school but referenced elementary school children.

County Sheriff's Deputies and Katy Independent School District (ISD) Police officers, arrested Hudson at his residence without incident on October 2, 2012.

Hudson has appeared in court and bond was set at $100,000.
