(Newsroom America) -- A new television ad to be launched by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney this week accuses President Barack Obama of dishonest attacks and questioning his honesty to lead.
"When a president doesn’t tell the truth, how can we trust him to lead?" says the voiceover in the ad, which is titled, "No Evidence."
"The Obama outsourcing attacks: ‘misleading, unfair and untrue,'" the voiceover continues. "There was ‘no evidence’ that Mitt Romney shipped jobs overseas."
The ad then refers to what the Romney campaign says were unfair attacks by Obama on then-Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton in 2008, the Weekly Standard reported in a blog post Thursday.
"Candidate Obama lied about Hillary Clinton," says the voiceover, then cuts to a clip of Clinton saying, "So shame on you, Barack Obama."
The ad then concludes, "But America expects more from a president. Obama’s dishonest campaign: Another reason America has lost confidence in Barack Obama."
The ad appears to be the strongest refutation yet by the Romney campaign of charges by Obama that the former Massachusetts governor outsourced jobs while CEO of investment firm Bain Capital.
"Just like he did against Hillary Clinton, President Obama now continues to spread dishonest attacks about Mitt Romney to distract from his failed record," says a Romney campaign press release, according to the Standard.
"Even though fact check after fact check have found his claims to be false, he continues to mislead the American people. It is no wonder why our country has lost confidence in his leadership," it says.
