(Newsroom America) -- A 5.8 magnitude earthquake has shaken southern Italy causing some buildings to collapse, just ten days after a 6.0 magnitude killed seven people.
The USGS said the quake struck at 09:00 local time about 40 km (25 miles) NNW (330 degrees) of Bologna at a depth of just 9km.
There were reports people had been injured by falling debris.
Ten days ago a 6.0 magnitude quake killed seven people and badly damaged many historic sites in the region including castles and churches.
